Woot woot!

We just found out that Ryan got accepted into the MAcc program at Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah! We're happy to have a little more certainty about our future. Congratulations, Ryan! We are so proud of you.

Give it a second, its has to go to space!

In class yesterday we were talkind about some pretty boring material and my professor all of a sudden said okay we need a break. We are going to watch this video that has nothing to do with our class. We watched this:

I found very thought provoking and funny. It made me think of what an amazing life we lead with all the technology and the responsibility we have to continue living good lives and doing something produtive and relevant in the world. Anyway I think the video is worth watching.

Imagine that more pictures of Reed

Our good friends the Fongs gave us a coupon for a free 8X12 collage picture print from Kiddie Kandids. Megan took Reed the other day and I wanted to share the results. Here they are.

Who needs a Mallet?

So I ran home(not literally, I walked) from church to get Reed's child blessing record we have forgotten to take to church with us since his blessing on February 1st. As I round the corner I hear someone running from the apartment building into the parking lot. I look over a see a girl with no shoes on holding two bags of nilla wafers in her hand. She proceeds to place one bag under each of her two back tires. I looked at her inquisitively and she gave me a little smile. I opened our door got the paper from it's no-way-we-can-forget-it-if-we-put-it-here spot and returned to the parking lot in time to hear the crunching sound a tire makes when backing over a bag of nilla wafers. The girl, obviously pleased with herself, half-skips to the back of her car, retrieves the now crushed wafers and happily runs inside.
She really used her car to smash nilla wafers, really. I laughed out loud and went back to church. I giggled a few times to myself before it was appropriate to tell others of the awesome event I witnessed. .

And now for good measure: Pics of Reed

It's a beautiful day in the neighborhood

The weather is finally starting to turn warm, so Reed and I have spent the past few days playing at the park. It's nice to get outside after a long, cold winter. Our apartment was starting to feel a little too much like a dungeon. And for some inexplicable reason, Reed likes tummy time at the park but not at home. So to the park we go. Unfortunately, Reed was sick today, so to the park we did not go. We did go to the doctor, though, and for anyone who is interested our little chunk is now 12 lbs. 5 oz.! Up 3 lbs. 8 oz. from one month ago!
Apparently his little eyes need to get used to bright sunlight. Poor little guy looks stoned.
Eating not one, but two hands for comfort. Lately he tries to shove as much as possible into his mouth. The best I've seen so far was three fingers from one hand and two from the other. Impressive.

He had a fun time playing with mommy.

Sometimes playing just makes you tired.

Reed Pics

I talked to my Mom the other day and she told me she checks our blog daily for new pics of the boy so I figured I would post some pics from the last few weeks for her and the rest of Reed's adoring fans (mostly us and the family I am sure).

Looking good. Ready for a night out. He is smiling so big his eyes are shut.

Just chillin after a nice bath, relaxing after a long day of being held, fed, and changed.

Our Trip to See Jimmy, Megan, and Bryan

I love Jimmy Eat World and have for a very long time. They released a CD in 1999 called Clarity. To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the release they decided to go on a 10 day tour in ten cities and play the CD in its entirety. I recieved this glorious news in an email in early November(not the band). I was literally shaking with excitement as I read it. I was way excited and Megan said we could go before asking how much the tickets were. What a good wife! I am very lucky to have her. Anyway we decided the tickets and the trip would be our Christmas gift to eachother. We finally got to go after months of anticipation. Jimmy Eat World is from AZ so the show was a homecoming and the last show of the tour.

We have some good friends Megan and Bryan(yes, it is confusing to hang out with very similar names)that I grew up with and that were very good to us while we were both in Utah (and after) that moved to AZ. I called when I found out about the show and asked if we can stay with them and if they would watch Reed (unborn at this time) while we went to the concert. Megan (not my wife) apparently told me it was her birthday the day of the concert but it was okay. I honestly do not remember that, I think I heard yes and tuned everything else out. Megan did end up watching Reed on her birthday but we celebrated it the night before with all her siblings. We had a great time with them and wish we could have stayed longer.

Here are some pics from our trip

The Monthly Reed: 3

Two weeks old: Two months old:
Three months old:

This kid is getting big!

As a side note, be sure to check out the new posts (yes, posts) below to see what we have been up to!

SCHS, we are the best!

My dad is the assistant coach for the SCHS Warriors Varsity Girls' Basketball Team (which just so happens to be my Alma Mater). Last weekend was their state tournament, so we got to hang out with Grandma and Aunties Kayla and Tayler and watch a few sweet basketball games. His team lost the game that would have put them into the championship game, so ended up in either 3rd or 4th place (I'm not sure which). Here are a few pictures from a fun weekend!

Reed practiced standing up with grandma (this is his new favorite trick).

Reed during game one. I'm starting to notice a pattern in Reed's actions during our outings. He slept through 3 1/2 quarters, despite the noisy crowd and pep band. Amazing. And he fell asleep during the third game, which was even noisier. Crazy kid.

Reed's dope basketball-game-going outfit...

...complete with Shaq shoes.

Kayla the manager extraordinaire.

Coach of the year (in our book, at least.)
GO WARRIORS!

Planetarium time!

Reed also slept through the planetarium. But the big kids had fun.
Kay-kay and Tay-tay...we had fun hanging out with these girls this weekend. They are silly and cute. I know, you mistook Reed's stroller for a mars off-roading craft. It's okay, I did, too.
The planetarium had a gargantuan elevator...or did these three just shrink?

We look so hott when we stand in front of Foucault pendulums.

No gravity! Yikes!

Zoooooooo!

Reed at Hogle Zoo:

I think he really liked the giraffes. The camels may have been his favorite, though--it was hard to tell.
And, of course, two minutes after we left the zoo:

(Sorry the exposure makes him look a little scary. You get the point.)

New Babysitter...

...and he loves it

Shootin' the Breezy in St. Geezy

Sorry for the dumb post title. It sounded cool in my head, then I typed it and it sounded...well, it sounded not so good. But it's all I can think of, so we'll stick with it.
Last weekend (Valentine's Weekend) Reed and I went to St. George to have a little vacation. I know it probably sounds weird that we left Ryan alone on Valentine's weekend--no, we aren't fighting and yes, we are still happily married--but Ryan had 4 tests and had to work every night that he didn't have class. He wasn't even going to be home on Valentine's Day, so we weren't leaving him home alone on the day of love. Anyway, here is our trip in pictures (sorry they are different sizes...I didn't feel like fixing it):

Reed took a bath in grandma's sink...and hated it.

Kody gave Reed tons of love and attention.

Reed got to hang with Hailey.

Reed became Mr. Drooly...check out the huge drool circle under his chin on his shirt.

Grandpa and Grandma--aren't they cute?

We had fun at the Parade of Homes!

We squished in the car between Parade houses.

We made awesome Valentine's cookies.

And Reed took a nap with Grandpa and Coco.
